China has criticized Slovak President Andrej Kiska's meeting with the Dalai Lama on Sunday. The Foreign Ministry said the meeting went against Slovakia's commitment to the One-China policy.

Spokesperson Hua Chunying said the Dalai Lama has for long engaged in activities to separate Tibet from China.

She urged Slovakia to have a clear understanding of the Dalai Lama's anti-China nature; respect China's core interests and major concerns; and strictly abide by the One-China policy.
