Full coverage: Xi Visits Cambodia, Bangladesh, Attends BRICS summit
In anticipation of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Bangladesh, a series of activities have been held to welcome the president. On Tuesday, a China-themed book fair opened in the capital, Dhaka.
Meanwhile, a media dialogue was also held on the same day. Government officials from China and Bangladesh, as well as local students attended the opening ceremony.
Bangladesh-China Media Dialogue
More than 1,000 types of publications focusing on China are on exhibit, including “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China.”
Books on Chinese politics, economy, culture, history, society and “the Belt and the Road” initiative are also being offered in the hopes of helping local people better understand today’s China, and strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
At the media forum, more than 10 major media organizations from the two countries exchanged opinions on ways to enhance cooperation in the field of news.
Bangladesh media are highly anticipating Xi’s upcoming visit and say they are determined to bring about more collaborations when it comes to news reporting and new media.
China’s Xinhua News Agency and China Radio International also signed agreements with their local counterparts at the forum.
