The Syrian army has claimed to recapture several important positions in Sheikh Saeed hilltop in Syria’s Aleppo city. But rebels say those gains have been reversed.
Sheikh Saeed is a rebel-held district in south Aleppo, where most intense battles earlier this summer took place.
The army launched a new round of offensives two weeks ago, following the collapse of a short U.S.-Russia brokered ceasefire. Since then, the army and its allies have made some progress in northern and central districts of rebel-held eastern Aleppo.
