Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is on a two-day visit. Wang has confirmed China's offer of a 4-billion-plus-US-dollar credit line. Wang made the offer during his meeting with Bolivian President Evo Morales.
Morales praised China for providing the financial aid without imposing any political and economic conditions. He said the money will be spent on infrastructure. Wang said the assistance is part of efforts to boost cooperation with Latin American countries. He said these ties have reached a new phase because of the establishment of China-Community of Latin American and Caribbean States Forum two years ago.
After Boliva, Wang heads to Colombia, the last stop of his four-nation tour in South America.
