Philippine Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana says that his country can get by without U.S. military aid. Lorenzana made the remarks at a foreign correspondents' forum where he also called for a reassessment of relations between the Philippines and the United States.
The Philippine defense secretary also noted that he agreed with President Rodrigo Duterte's repeated assertion that the U.S. had failed the Philippines.
Lorenzana said he favors a review of the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement which Manila and Washington signed in 2014.
