British Prime Minister Theresa May has revealed the UK's much-anticipated Brexit timeline. May addressed the Conservative Party Conference on Sunday and said the country will start the formal mechanism for leaving the European Union before the end of March next year.

Triggering Article 50 of the E-U's Lisbon Treaty means the UK will get two years to negotiate its exit. May believes Brexit will make Britain an independent and sovereign nation. The prime minister says she won't make a running commentary on the negotiations.

"I already said that we will consult and work the the devolved administrations for Scotland, Whales and Northern Ireland. Because we want Brexit to work in the interest of the whole country. And we will do the same with business and municipal leaders across the land. But the job of negotiating our new relationship is the job of the government. Because we voted in the referendum as one United Kingdom," May said.
