At Wuhan Open, the only Chinese left in the draw -- Zhang Shuai -- would be in action against Britain's Johanna Konta.

The pair met at this year's Australian Open, with the Brit coming out on top, but Zhang was hoping that playing in front of her home crowd would help her get the upperhand in this encounter.

Konta would get an early break in the first, and is putting pressure on the Chinese serve again, as Zhang fires wide and hands the Brit the opener 6-3.

The Chinese would look good to start the second set -- firing a forehand deep, that just stays inside the line.

But Zhang is unable to continue that momentum, as she cannot get to this return. Konta prevails in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, and advances to the Last 16 of the tournament.

RADWANSKA BEATS MAKAROVA 6-4, 6-1

That is Agieszka Radwanska at the top of your screen, serving to Ekaterina Makarova. The Pole able to take the first set, 6-4 when her opponent finds the net.

The second set was even easier, the third seed leading 5-1 now and is able to claim victory when Makarova fires long. A-Rad wins it 6-4, 6-1.

JANKOVIC UPSETS MUGURUZA 6-4, 7-6

Former world number one Jelena Jankovic is facing Gabine Muguruza, and the Serb takes the opener 6-4, and takes the lead in the second set tiebreak.

Muguruza, this year's french open champ -- would then be forced to clawback to stay in the match -- but is trailing 6-2 in the extra session, and misfires on this backhand and falls in straight sets. 6-4, 7-6, as Jankovic progresses.
