One of the capital's musical gems, the annual Beijing Music Festival, or BMF for short - will raise its curtain on October the 9th. Themed "Musical Legacy and Innovation", the 19th edition will blaze new trails while reinterpreting the glorious heritage of classical music.
The opening concert will be presented by the China National Center of Performing Arts Orchestra and Chorus under the baton of internationally acclaimed maestro Lyu Jia. This will be the first collaboration between the BMF and NCPA.
Other highlights include the Chinese premiere of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by renowned composer Benjamin Britten, an immersive theatrical experience of Mozart's opera masterpiece Giovanni, and a 3D mini opera "Black Out" by Dutch composer Michel van der Aa.
The festival runs from October 9th to 29th.
