In South Korea, defense officials reveal that a golf course in Seongju county has been selected as the new site for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, or THAAD missile defense system.
A South Korean Defense Ministry official said they will announce the final site this week. Defense sources say the Lotte Skyhill Country Club will be selected because of its higher altitude and relative isolation.
However, hurdles include opposition from nearby residents in Gimcheon, and the golf course's hefty 90 million US dollar price tag.
