Chinese drama is proving a big hit at the 10th Saint Petersburg International Theatre Festival in Russia. The drama "Soulmate" by the Beijing People's Art Theater was staged in the Alexan'drinsky Theater over the weekend. It's a fitting response to the visit of Russian play "The Government Inspector" last August.
Chinese drama is rarely shown in Russia because of language and technical barriers. But with the help of simultaneous interpretation, artists from the two countries worked together to make "Soulmate" a success.

Comedy by famous Russian dramatist Nikolay Gogol "The Government Inspector" was staged in the Capital Theater of Beijing last August to great acclaim.
The exchange by artists constitutes an important part of cultural exchanges between the two countries.
