India has accused Pakistani militants of being responsible for Sunday's separatist attack on an army base near their disputed frontier. The attack left 17 soldiers dead in the town of Uri, which lies near the Line of Control with Pakistan.
The director general of military operations, Ranbir Singh, expressed India's serious concern over the militant attack. He said all four rebels involved in the deadly attack were killed by the Indian Army, adding the terrorists carried items which had "Pakistani markings" on them.
Singh blamed the Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist group for the deadly attack. However, Pakistan has rejected allegations of involvement.
