Germany's center-left Social Democrats won Berlin's state election again on Friday and looks likely to form a coalition with the Greens and the Left Party.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel's party came second but may lose its junior position in a coalition government.

Merkel said she accepted her share of responsibility for her party losing some seats after anti-immigrant voters switched to the new far-right Alternative for Germany which came fifth in the election.
