Taiwan is bracing for another major storm, even as it is still reeling from Typhoon Meranti's damage.

Malakas is expected to make landfall in Taipei on Saturday as a category-4 typhoon. Forecasts show the city will see heavy rains and gusts of 200 kilometers per hour. Gusts as strong as 160 kilometers per hour will track near the island's coast.

The northeastern tip of Taiwan is expected to bear the brunt of the typhoon's strength. The Chinese mainland provinces of Fujian and Zhejiang in the east may also be affected.
