The United Nations Security Council has canceled a meeting on the Syrian ceasefire due to disagreements between the US and Russia.
US and Russian envoys were scheduled to present details of the joint agreement which called for a ceasefire, the delivery of aid, and joint targeting of Islamist rebels in Syria. However, the US has been reluctant to release the details of the agreement, citing security concerns for some US-backed groups fighting in the country.
Russia on Friday said a UN Security Council endorsement of a Syrian ceasefire deal between Moscow and Washington appeared unlikely, because of the US's refusal to share details with the 15-member body.
