The China General Nuclear Power Corporation says preparations for the freshly green-lighted Hinkley Point nuclear project are already underway. Experts also say the launch of the project will boost the construction of nuclear power stations around the world.
"At the moment a company has already been established in the UK for the operation of the Hinkley project. We've also completed funding arrangements for the project. We are now allocating management and technology employees according to different stages of the project," said Huang Xiaofei, spokesperson of China General Nuclear Power Corp..
"It's the strongest shot to the global nuclear industry. It will boost the growth of nuclear power in the next decade to come. It is estimated by the World Nuclear Association that over 30 sets of nuclear power machines could be approved in the next 10 years, under the positive influence of the HPC project," said Zhi Shengke, manager of Amec Forster Wheeler.
