French President Francois Hollande is praising the British government's decision to approve the Hinkley Point nuclear power plant project.

Hollande's government also said Great Britain's approval of the project is an important step in cooperation between the two countries' power industries.

French utility EDF says the nuclear plant to be built in Britain will benefit both countries by creating 250 thousand jobs.
