Today is the second day of China's Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. But this year's strongest typhoon continues to dampen the holiday spirit for most parts of southeastern China.
In Fujian province, at least one person died and more than 50 were injured... Heavy rainstorms triggered mountain slides in Changtai county. Rescuers saved 43 trapped residents.
In neighboring Zhejiang province, at least three people were killed and two are missing. More than 200,000 people have been affected by the extreme weather. More than 15,000 have been evacuated.
The storm is expected to weaken as it moves north. But high winds and torrential rain are still expected to batter China's eastern region in the coming days.
