Chinese President Xi Jinping met with his Peruvian counterpart, President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski in Beijing on Tuesday. The two sides agreed to upgrade bilateral relations.
President Xi greeted Kuczynski with a welcoming ceremony at the Great Hall of the People before the two leaders sat down for talks. President Xi proposed closer communication between the two countries at all levels. He called for more cooperation in modern agriculture, new energy, and the green economy, as well as the traditional areas of mining, energy and infrastructure.
Kuczynski announced his plan to make China his first overseas destination within hours of winning the presidential election in June. He made clear last week that the goal of his trip to China was to find more investors.
Accompanied by four ministers and more than a dozen business leaders, Kuczynski will pitch refineries, railways and ports to Chinese investors during his five-day visit.
