Muslims residing in the Gaza Strip are also in the midst of preparing for Eid al-Adha or the Corban Festival.
On Sunday, the main market was packed with people buying sweets and nuts. In southern Khan Younis city, people were buying sacrificial animals to be slaughtered for Eid al-Adha meals. Although prices of sacrificial animals are down this year, purchasing power remains low due to its ailing economy. Most are not able to purchase a whole animal, and can only buy parts.
