The United States and Russia have finally reached a ceasefire agreement in Syria. The truce will officially take effect from Monday, or the first day of the Muslim Feast of Sacrifice Holiday - Eid Al-Adha. US Secretary of State John Kerry said the ceasefire will improve humanitarian access to besieged areas like Aleppo. His Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov said separating terrorists from moderate opposition was a highlight.
Syrian official news agency said Damascus had agreed with the arrangement. Major opposition groups said they welcomed the initiative. Countries and organizations like Britain, Turkey and the European Union, expressed pleasure at seeing a ceasefire in the war-torn country.
