Actress and UNHCR envoy Angelina Jolie has visited a refugee camp in Jordan. The UN Goodwill Ambassador on Friday said the international community needs to work harder to help refugees.

"There are children here who remember no life other than its harsh desert environment and barbed wire fences. There are teens here who bear terrible physical and mental wounds of the conflict. Over half of all refugees in Jordan are under 18. My own children are of that age. And like any other parent, it is impossible for me not to imagine what it will be like for my own children in this situation. And it breaks my heart," sha said.

This is Jolie's fourth visit to Jordan since the start of the Syrian crisis. Jolie said all of the camp's 60-thousand residents have suffered loss and trauma. Around 75,000 Syrians are stranded at the Berm, an area on the Jordan-Syria border and lack access to humanitarian aid. Jordan has taken in tens of thousands of refugees since the crisis began. Since May 2014, up to 40,000 Syrian refugees have fled to Jordan. But the country has reached its limit.
