The Association of Southeast Asian Nations and its partners have pledged to intensify their efforts for swift conclusion of the negotiations on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership trade deal.

ASEAN and China, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand said they had made progress in negotiating the  economic partnership.

RCEP is a proposed free trade agreement that would potentially include more than 3 billion people, and account for about 40 percent of world trade.
