Full coverage: Chinese Premier Visits Laos, Attends East Asia Summit

This year marks the 25th anniversary of China-ASEAN dialogue relations, as well as the 55th anniversary of the relationship between China and Laos. Experts have expressed optimism about the relations and cooperation. They also highlighted the significance of these ties to regional prosperity.

“The people in China and Laos have been learning more and more about each other in the past 55 years. Chinese investment has also increased within recent years. And the two sides have conducted frequent cultural exchanges. As a government official, I am happy about this cooperation and hope it would continue,” said Dr. Feuangsy Laofoung from Lao Academy of Social Sciences.

“The friendly cooperation between the Chinese and Lao people, as well as the one between China and the ASEAN, will continue to advance, because this cooperation has benefitted people from both countries, which is exactly what the people want. I believe we will make great strides in politics, economy, culture, and many other areas in our future cooperation,” said Soukthavy Keola, former Counselor of Lao Embassy in China.
