The Association of Southeast Asian Nations has held the opening ceremony for its latest summit in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Community building efforts are at the top of agenda.
ASEAN groups together Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Major dialogue partners including the US, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Russia and Australia will also be in Ventiane over the next two days.
