The 11th Group of 20 (G20) Summit was opened in Hangzhou, east China amid the world's attention on September 4.
Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony, offering "Chinese remedies" to promote the world's economy with robust, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth, which has won over participating leaders, as well as international public opinions. In the context of a global economic downturn, permanent solutions with comprehensive strategies are needed to resolve current problems and eliminate root causes.
Xi proposed five measures in the hopes of leading the world economy back to the right track, including strengthening macro-economic policy coordination, realizing innovative development patterns, improving global economic governance, promoting liberalization and smoother facilitation of trade and investment, and expediting inclusive development.
The G20 also faces crucial moment of transformation. Xi's proposal of "advancing with the times," "unity of knowing and doing", "co-building and sharing" and "pulling together in times of trouble" has set the course for future G20 development.
The Hangzhou summit has aggregated everyone's intelligence and efforts to see a meeting of Qiantang Tide with the world tides. And Xi's speeches will guide the summit to realize its achievements and success.
