Scholars from around the world are looking forward to the outcome of this year’s summit. This comes amid a lingering global economic downturn. As the G20 summit officially opens in eastern China’s Hangzhou City, experts are eager to see the host’s contributions.

“Many developing countries are worried about the world economy. Helping developing countries is the summit’s top priority,” said Dr. Feuangsy Laofoung from Lao Academy of Social Sciences.

“China is undoubtedly leading the world economy. China should play its role in the Group of 20 to address the difficulties faced by the global economy,” said Prof. Saleh Al-Saqri from Imam University, Saudi Arabia.

“Brazil’s economy has slowed in recent years. China has been Brazil’s largest trading partner since 2009. At this year’s G20 summit, Brazil hopes to strengthen ties with China and attract more investments to boost the domestic growth,” said Prof. Arthur Murta from Sao Paulo University, Brazil.
