Full coverage: G20 Hangzhou Summit
World leaders continue to arrive in China with the G20 Summit set to begin on Sunday. Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has just landed in Hangzhou. We go live to Hangzhou airport.
This is Renzi's second visit to China since he took office in 2014. Italy was hit by a massive earthquake last month, which killed 300 people. The international community showed great sympathy to Italy in the wake of the disaster. The G20 summit will provide more support as a platform of cooperation for Rome. Italy and China established a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2014.
Italy is China's fifth largest trading partner in the EU, while China is Italy's largest trading partner in Asia. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a trip to Rome earlier this year deepening the partnership is in the interests of both countries. He said there is great potential for further cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of trade, infrastructure, technology and innovation.
