The Chinese philosophy of life is conveyed through the delicate, elegant and classic dance. Audiences can also experience the divine realm and the glorious past of Dunhuang.

“The artists and dancers fully express the beauty of China’s traditional culture,” said Chen Weiya, renowned director.

“From the choreography, lighting design and the costumes all create a unique aura of mystery, which let the audience feel the profound charm of Dunhuang. Their passion for traditional Chinese culture and arts are vividly showcased on the stage.”

This production is representing the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the 5th Minorities Art Festival of China. The dancers from Hong Kong Dance Federation are not professional dancers.

“My greatest feeling is wow, it’s so great and so touching! I’m from Hong Kong, and I have this rare opportunity to participate this national art festival. It’s such a big stage. I think it’s a very important starting point for Hong Kong Amateur dancers,” said Tang Zhiwen, dancer.

“I can’t believe they are not professional dancers. Their performances are so stunning. I’m totally mesmerized,” an audience member said.

Thirty five representatives from across the country will participate in the festival. It runs from August 16 to September 14.
