A railway system that passes through national parks in Kenya’s capital Nairobi to Port of Mombasa has been re-designed and rebulit to avoid changes in the natural landscape.
The 470-kilometer railway track passes through Tsavo National Park and Nairobi National Park. Zhang Chunqiao, chief designer of the railway, says the railway has been redesigned to be environment-friendly.
According to Kenyan laws, the width of passes for large animals should be at least 60 meters. Kimani Julias, deputy director of Kenya Wildlife Service, says the re-designed railway avoided changes in the natural landscape.
