Full coverage: G20 Hangzhou Summit
This year's G20 hosts the largest number of developing countries ever. China has invited many more non-G20 countries, such as Laos, Chad, Senegal, Thailand, Kazakhstan and Egypt. Those countries represent a variety of regional country clusters.
For the first time, the issue of development was given prominence in the framework of global macro policy. And for the first time, action plans on implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development will be formulated.
Africa and the least developed countries are being given more focus this time than ever. The meeting discusses ways to alleviate poverty in those regions and to boost industrialization there.
