The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this week that Canada's prime minister, Justin Trudeau, will attend the G20 at the invitation of China's premier, Li Keqiang. Ahead of the summit, some officials have expressed their own views on why the G20 is so important and what it means for China.
"After the G20 was established, China and the U.S. have cooperated with each other in many ways. I believe people across the world want the two countries to continue to work together and play constructive roles in making this G20 Summit a success," Chinese ambassador to the US Cui Tiankai said.
"We highly recognize Chinese companies' ability in infrastructural construction. We hope China will appreciate our food companies, and increase food imports from Argentina. We hope our cooperation will be more balanced." President of Argentina Mauricio Macri said.
