At least 12 people, including 7 students, have been killed in the gun and bomb attack that took place at the American University in Kabul.

More than 40 people have been wounded and were sent to hospitals for treatment, with some in serious condition. The attack began at around 6:30 pm local time on Wednesday, and lasted nearly 10 hours before police shot dead two gunmen. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
