Terrified students recounted barricading themselves in classrooms and jumping from the second floor to escape.
“We were studying at the second floor, suddenly we heard a very harsh sound, there some gunfire. We didn’t feel safe, so we jumped from the second floor and escaped from the gateway. From there, the police officers took us here. I saw five or six persons jump from the second floor. I don’t remember what happened to them. Just because we escaped, I haven’t seen anything,” said Ziaullah, student.
“She was telling me that, ‘Please pray for me, because maybe this is the last time that I talk to you.’ There were a lot of people, from teachers, students, male and female, they were inside. She told me that we all barricaded with tables and chairs on the back of the door in order to keep themselves safe,” said Mohammed Ali, brother of a student.
