Oil prices higher on news Iran may freeze output

Oil prices have jumped after reports that Iran may support an OPEC-led effort to curb the global production of oil. Unnamed sources say Tehran is sending positive signals that it may do more to firm up global oil prices, after Iran refused to freeze its oil output earlier this year.

But the world’s largest energy consulting firm, Tradition Energy, says it remains cautious about reports that Iran is reversing its stance.
