Last week the head of the Irish Olympic Council Patrick Hickey was arrested for his role in a ticket-scalping scheme and is currently in a prison in the Olympic city, as investigators look into this plot further. And it seems this plan had many tentacles, as Rio officials will question three of Ireland's top Olympic executives to see what involvement they had.
The secretary-general of the Irish Olympic committee, Dermot Henihan would appear at Rio's police headquarters for questioning. Two more officials are expected to be interrogated.
It is alleged that Patrick Hickey, the head of the Irish Olympic committee, who is currently detained, set up companies to sell Olympic tickets at huge mark-ups and profit from them. Officials claim they have numerous email exchanges between Hickey and other officials, linking them to the re-selling scam.
