Turkey says its army shelled Islamic State targets near the border town of Jarablus in Northern Syria on Monday. It says it also hit Kurdish YPG positions in Manbij. Turkey said Islamic State was the prime target, but it said the presence of Kurdish militants on the Turkish border was also "unacceptable".
Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said talks on military cooperation with Russia in the fight against Islamic State in Syria were nearing an end. He said technical teams were meeting this week to discuss details.
