Full coverage: 2016 Rio Olympics
While athletes are in the zone to win their respective events at the Rio Olympics, there's a brewing competition not for the strongest nor the fastest sports people, but for the best hands?! Or make that fingernails. Rio nail art is the hottest trend that's putting the Olympic rush at the tip of your fingers.
Nail arts bring Olympic rush to your fingers
These mini works of art are popping up all over the world - and yes, they're Rio-themed!
From Olympic rings to Olympic medals from Rio's map to its flags and even palm trees. Name it all, you can support the Games at the tip of your fingers!
"Usually during Olympic season I wear red white and blue. I'm super excited!"
"Now it's Olympic time so I decided to do my nails in Olympic style!"
"Nails Magazine " editor-in-chief Erika Kotite describes it as a "phenomenon".
"We also know that there is a nail salon on the Olympic village, which is very cool, so they can actually go in and have the flag of their country or the colors of their country or any of the motifs that represent where they come from. It's just a perfect tie in with those little portrait canvases on the ends of our fingers," said editor-in-chief of Nails Magazine Erika Kotite.
Some nail salons in the US are having the Olympic rush.
"Literally everyone that comes here just gets the Olympic nails."
"It's very exciting because were are representing our teams and people do different kinds," said Kristina Kuroyian, Marie Nails spokesperson in LA.
"In the salon a lot of clients are asking us to do Olympics and with the political things going on as well, they are doing that so it's a way for the client to express themselves through their nails," said Robert Nguyen, co-owner of House of Polish.
With the Olympics still going, we can't point a finger yet to which country will have their hands full of medals.
But for now, let's have first those pointing fingers artsy classy, Olympic style!
