The UN special envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, says that no aid deliveries have reached besieged areas of Syria for the past month. He said he had suspended a humanitarian task force until next week as a signal to major powers.
"Not one single convoy in one month has reached any of the humanitarian besieged areas. Not one single convoy. And why? Because (of) one thing: fighting," UN special envoy for Syria Staffan De Mistura said.
De Mistura says a group of countries would meet on Thursday to discuss a 48-hour pause of fighting in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo. He said he would reconvene the humanitarian task force next week, and believes that the task force's co-chairs - Russia and the United States - still want a non-military solution to Syria's conflict.
