China has released a yellow warning alert for heatwaves across the country, the third highest in a four-tier warning system.
Temperatures are expected to hit a high of 40 degrees Celsius in areas like central Shaanxi, central and eastern Sichuan, the eastern regions of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and south of Yangtze-Han River.
China Meteorological Administration says this round of heatwave is not as strong compared to the one in late July but is likely to last until late August.
