China won two more golds on day 11 of the Rio Olympics, raising their gold medal tally to 17. They currently sit in third place in the medals table.
The latest gold came from women’s team table tennis, where favorites China secured the country’s third gold in the event category. They smashed past Germany in three straight sets to earn the crown.
In diving, Cao Yuan won the men’s individual 3 meter springboard event with relative ease. The 21-year-old topped his group in both the preliminaries and semifinals and led the final from start to finish. China now has a total of seven medals in diving at the Rio Games.
In another water event, China’s Huang Xuechen and Sun Wenyan won silver in synchronized swimming. It is China’s first silver medal in this event at the Olympics.
Meanwhile, China’s Dong Bin landed himself on the podium, winning the bronze medal in the men’s triple jump event. In his first attempt, Dong jumped a personal best of 17.58 meters.
