So let's look at the medal table as we reach the mid-point of the Games -- and once again the Stars and Stripes are out in front.

The USA lead with 26 gold, 21 silver, and 22 bronze medals -- 69 in all.

Great Britain's five wins Sunday moved them into second place. 15 gold, 16 silver, and 7 bronze medals for the Union Jack -- 38 overall

China also have 15 golds, along with 13 silver and 17 bronze medals, 45 total. Silvers are the tiebreaker, so the PRC dipped to third for now.

Climbing into fourth are Russia with 9 golds. Germany sit fifth with 8 gold.
