For more analysis, we are now joined in studio by Teng Jianqun from the China Institute of International Studies.

Q1, Mr Teng, as we reported,  Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Monday sent a ritual offering to the notorious war-linked Yasukuni Shrine. Abe's ruling coalition is pushing to remilitarize Japan by way of amending Japan's Constitution. What do you think of Abe's moves?

Q2, Japanese Emperor Akihito said last week that his deteriorating health may make it hard to fulfill his duties. The remarks have been widely interpreted as his wish to step down. And some analysts say the potential abdication could be Akihito's subtle intention to ensure that the current status of the emperor as a peaceful, symbolic figure is maintained, amid the current government's increasingly militaristic tenets. What's your opinion?
