A Swiss man has wounded six people after he started a fire and stabbed people on a train in northeastern Switzerland.
The incident happened when the train was about to enter the station in Salez in Saint Gallen canton. Police said the 27-year-old suspect carried at least one knife and a flammable liquid.
The injured, including a 6-year-old child and two teenagers, have been hospitalized, and some of them are in critical conditions.
A spokesman for the police says the suspect is a Swiss national, not an immigrant. The motive of the attack was not immediately clear, but the incident follows a string of recent, violent assaults in Europe.
