Full coverage: THAAD Deployment in South Korea
Voices against the deployment of the controversial anti-missile THAAD system are growing louder in South Korea.
Kim Sang-gon, a candidate running for representative of the main opposition Minjoo Party, said the impeachment of President Park Geun-hye would be inevitable if she continues to ignore public dissent. Six other members of the party also called on her to apologize for the decision.
Meanwhile, the opposition People's Party demanded for a re-negotiation over the deployment at the National Assembly. According to South Korean media, some one thousand members of the ruling Saenuri Party have applied to withdraw from the party in protest against the decision.
