Official merchandise sold at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is being made in two versions. One is an expensive one that's for sale in official stores. The other is a lower-quality version that's sold more cheaply in street markets.
The arrangement is aimed at helping combat fake goods and make the merchandise accessible to people who have smaller budgets.
In the official megastore in upscale Copacabana, a t-shirt costs about US$30. A similar product of lower quality sold elsewhere costs less than US$20.
Organisers hope to sell merchandise worth about one billion Brazilian reals(US$310 million), despite the current economic situation in Brazil.
