The first China Cultural Week has kicked off at the Yangon University of Foreign Languages. The week-long event aims to promote cultural exchange among youths from both China and Myanmar.
Nearly a thousand students attended activities and presented their countries' unique cultures through various performances. These included fashion shows of traditional costumes, playing Myanmar's folk instruments and showcasing Chinese calligraphy skills.
In recent years, as the two countries' economic ties have been deepening, a sudden craze has come about, as many young Burmese are studying the Chinese culture and language.
