China wins 2 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze on Day 3 in Rio

Day 3 of the Rio Olympics and China has bagged five medals -- two gold, one silver, two bronze. It's a big harvest, especially in aquatic sports.

Sun Yang won the men's 200m freestyle, finishing in 1 minute 44-point-65 seconds. He now has three Olympic gold medals.

The Chinese team also took a silver in men's 100m backstroke, and a bronze in women's 100m backstroke.

In the men's synchronized 10-meter platform, divers Lin Yue and Chen Aisen won a second gold medal for the Chinese diving team. This is the fourth consecutive time China has won the men's event.

The bronze came from gymnastics in the men's team all-around.

Currently, China takes the second spot in the medal tally with 5 gold medals -- same as the US, but six less in total. Australia grabbed their fourth gold also on Day 3. Italy and Japan round out the top five.
