China leads with 5 gold, 3 silver, 5 bronze in Rio

It's Day 3 of the Olympic Games. China is now leading the medal table with five gold, three silver and five bronze.

The latest medals come from the swimming events. Chinese swimmer Sun Yang won men's 200m freestyle with 1 minute 44.65 seconds, adding the number of his Olympic gold medals to three. The Chinese team also bagged a silver in men's 100m backstroke, and one bronze in women's 100m backstroke.

Also on Monday, Lin Yue and Chen Aisen won the men's synchronized 10-meter platform, securing China's second gold medal in diving. The two divers posted an overall score of 496-point-98 points to finish ahead of the US and British pairs. It's the fourth consecutive time that China won the men's event.

And in a thrilling final for men's team all-around in gymnastics, the Chinese team took bronze. Japan claimed the gold and Russia won silver.
