The Walt Disney Company has teamed up with several Chinese filmmakers for the new documentary, 'We Were Born in China'. The film, which features China's most precious animals, will hit the big screen next Friday.

"We Were Born in China" is as glorious as three of China's most precious animals -- the panda, the golden snub-nosed monkey, and the snow leopard.

Set in China's breath-taking natural landscapes, the film offers a spectacular view of the stories of these animals.

It is narrated by actress Zhou Xu and directed by Lu Chuan, whose previous works include "Kekexili" and "Nanking, Nanking."

"It's a documentary film about wild animals. It seems like audience see their own stories by watching the stories of the animals," said Lu Chuan, director of "We Were Born in China".

The film's pre-production began in 2014 and took three years in the making.

Five photographers from France, Britain, the US and Germany led five crews in the trek into the natural reserves in Sichuan's Wolong, Hubei's Shennongjia and Kekexili.

Over 18 months, the crew took 350 hours of footage, including the first-ever video of a snow leopard.

The documentary is also a breakthrough for Chinese filmmakers, who have rarely dashed into nature- and wildlife-themed films.

The English version of "We Were Born in China" will be released on April 22nd next year, in time for Earth Day.
