Full coverage: THAAD Deployment in South Korea
South Korea has said the decision on where to position its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system -- or THAAD -- is not an easy one.
South Korean President Park Geun-hye intimated that its proposed location could be reviewed in light of the continued resistance from local residents. However, a government spokesperson said that a final decision could only be made after the precise investigation and review of a new site.
On Friday, local newspaper, The Hankyoreh, criticized the government's hasty decision over the specialized anti-ballistic missile system, saying the move could sabotage regional security and stability.
